The Mad Couture Catwalk is a runway-style presentation of wearable artwork that challenges norms and shift boundaries through expression of participating artists’ practices and their individual insights related to mental illness. The project engages dialogue about mental health and addiction issues and creativity. Each detail is carefully considered and crafted. Each moment of spectacle provides a unique perspective. Humour, heartache, pain, celebration, frustration, and acceptance will confront you through these works of art. Created in collaboration with artist-educator, Elena Soni, the Mad Couture Catwalk features twenty-eight works by ten Workman Arts artists.
